Welcome. I’m happy to see you here.

Katie Gray Hundley, LPC

Therapist

Hey there, I’m Katie.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a mom of two, a lover of live music and good books, and someone who believes deeply in helping people feel more connected—to themselves, their values, and their lives.

I’ve been working in the mental health field for over 15 years, and in that time, I’ve learned that healing doesn’t look the same for everyone. Sometimes it’s quiet and reflective. Sometimes it’s bold and uncomfortable. Most often, it’s a slow unfolding that deserves patience and compassion. That’s the space I aim to create—one where you feel safe to explore, grow, and be fully yourself.

My approach is calm, casual, and collaborative. I blend evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, and mindfulness with a trauma-informed lens, always honoring your lived experience and pacing. I specialize in anxiety, life transitions, nervous system regulation, and self-compassion work.

I also provide clinical supervision for pre-licensed counselors and currently serve as the Coordinator for Graduate Student Clinical Services at Virginia Tech.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me with my kids, at a concert, or stealing a quiet moment with a good book. I believe therapy can be both grounding and empowering—and that you don’t have to navigate hard seasons alone.

If you’re ready to get curious, slow down, and reconnect with yourself—I’m here.

My Approach

I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful tool for healing. I’ll meet you with curiosity and compassion—not judgment—and we’ll move at a pace that feels safe and supportive. I often incorporate work around nervous system regulation, self-compassion, boundary-setting, and emotional awareness.

You can expect a down-to-earth space where you don’t have to have it all figured out—just a willingness to show up and explore. Together, we’ll uncover patterns, build tools, and reconnect you to a fuller, more grounded version of yourself.

What I Believe

I believe healing is deeply personal—and that you’re the expert on your own experience. My role is to walk alongside you, offering tools, perspective, and steady support as you navigate your path forward.

I believe in showing up as a real person in the room (or on the screen). Therapy isn’t about perfection—it’s about connection, honesty, and trust.

I believe emotions aren’t problems to solve. They’re messages, and together, we can learn to listen to them with more curiosity and less fear.

And I believe there’s no one “right” way to heal. Whether you’re carrying old wounds, feeling overwhelmed by the present, or unsure how to move forward—I’m here to help you feel less alone in it.
